Nice and Monaco

Nice has quickly become one of my favorite cities in the world. In a way it gave me very similar vibes to my home-town on the coast of California. Immediately getting off the plane feeling the sun hit me for the first time in weeks, or so it felt (I’ve been living in London for the past month), immediately gave me energy. There were palm trees, beautiful hills (except when we had to walk up them with all our suitcases :/ ), and some of the most spectacular sunsets I have seen. The boating scene is also a plus, if you’re into that, but who isn’t?

I don’t have to even think twice about my favorite part of Nice, drinking wine on the beach, watching the sunset. The whole time we were doing it I felt like I was breaking the law, considering drinking on the beach at home is not permitted. It was amazing and I will never forget the laughs my friends and I had making friends with the locals.

We spent a day in Monaco, which I highly recommend to anyone who is in the general area. The busing system is so easy from Nice to Monte Carlo and only costs €1,50! The casino is spectacular, and a must do! Initially we weren’t sure if we were allowed to go in as they had guards in suits standing at the entrance and we were in jeans and sweaters, but you can. Inside they have a tiny area for small bets, mainly just a touristy area but still cool. I bet €5 and lost it all, I thought I’d have some beginners luck as I’ve never bet before but turns out that’s not a thing for me.

If you get the opportunity, you have to go to Nice, truly an amazing city but can be done in a weekend. We were there for three days and saw everything we wanted to, in addition to Monaco!
